Delete Your Pause Account
Pause. Spoiler-free conversations about movies and TV.
You can permanently delete your Pause account and associated data at any
time. This page explains how to do it and what happens to your data.
Option 1: Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open the Pause app and sign in.
- Tap your Profile icon in the bottom navigation.
- Tap Settings (gear icon).
- Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account and data will be deleted immediately.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in, email us from the address associated with your
account:
We will process email deletion requests within 30 days.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following are permanently removed:
- Your profile (username, display name, photo, bio)
- Your email and authentication credentials
- All comments and timestamped posts you created
- Your likes, follows, and followers lists
- Direct messages you sent
- Your watch status and saved lists
- Push notification tokens
- Reports you submitted
What may be retained
A small amount of data may be kept for a limited time for legal, security,
or abuse-prevention reasons:

Reports filed against your account: retained up to
90 days in anonymized form so we can enforce our community guidelines.

Authentication logs: retained by our authentication
provider (Supabase) according to their standard retention policy.

Encrypted backups: your data may remain in routine
database backups for up to 30 days before being fully purged.
Note: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once
your account is deleted, you will need to create a new one if you wish to
use Pause again.
